Pulsant Expands UK Edge Coverage with Acquisition of SCC Data Centers
Pulsant, a leading UK edge infrastructure provider, has announced the acquisition of two data centers located in Birmingham and Fareham from SCC. This strategic move will expand Pulsant’s network to include a total of 14 data centers across the UK.
As part of the acquisition, Pulsant will also take over SCC’s colocation clients and operational teams, ensuring a seamless transition for existing clients and providing long-term stability and growth opportunities for the facilities.
The partnership between Pulsant and SCC will allow SCC clients to access Pulsant’s national data center network for colocation services, enhancing their connectivity and service offerings.
The Birmingham data center, boasting a 2 MW power capacity, holds a strategic central location, while the Fareham facility, with a 3 MW capacity, caters to corporate and service provider clients.
CEO of Pulsant, Rob Coupland, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “With the addition of two new data centers, we’ve strengthened our UK coverage, particularly in key economic hubs like Birmingham. This will enable more businesses to benefit from Pulsant’s infrastructure and platformEDGE, facilitating growth and market expansion.”
Pulsant is focused on enhancing its platformEDGE infrastructure to empower businesses with edge computing capabilities for improved performance and scalability.
SCC’s decision to choose Pulsant was driven by the latter’s expertise and commitment to long-term investment, ensuring continuity for customers and opportunities for employees. The transition of data center staff to Pulsant is expected to be completed by April 2025.
Both Pulsant and SCC emphasize their shared values of innovation, customer-centric services, and sustainable IT infrastructure, highlighting their commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
