Reddit has released its latest earnings report, highlighting a significant increase in its AI-focused efforts.
One notable area of growth for Reddit is its emphasis on leveraging AI for its advertising business. The company’s recent financial results show that a large portion of its revenue comes from ads, accounting for $465 million or 93% of the total revenue.
To further enhance its advertising capabilities, Reddit introduced two new features for marketers. Reddit Insights utilizes the vast amount of data on the platform to provide real-time insights and identify trends for campaign strategies. Additionally, Conversation Summary Add-ons allow advertisers to incorporate user discussions into ads, showcasing public opinions on products or brands.
In addition to advertising revenue, Reddit has seen growth in its “other revenue” category, which includes data licensing agreements with AI companies. This category experienced a 24% increase year-over-year, reaching $35 million in the second quarter.
The platform has formed content licensing partnerships with industry leaders like Google and OpenAI, indicating a promising revenue stream for the future. One of Reddit’s key AI-driven features, Reddit Answers, has gained popularity among users, with 6 million weekly users since its launch in December.
CEO Steve Huffman outlined plans to integrate Reddit Answers more extensively into the platform’s search experience, aiming to make search a central feature across Reddit.
