Summary:
1. HPE and Juniper are targeting the AI data center edge with a new MX router and scale-out networking delivery with a QFX switch.
2. The MX301 router brings AI inferencing closer to data generation sources, while the QFX5250 switch supports AI consumption across the data center.
3. Partnerships with Nvidia and AMD play a crucial role in HPE/Juniper’s AI networking plans, extending support for high-scale, secure, and low-latency connections.

Title: HPE and Juniper Introduce New Hardware for AI Data Center Edge

In the world of networking hardware, HPE and Juniper are making waves with their latest offerings aimed at the AI data center edge. HPE has unveiled the MX301 multiservice edge router, designed to bring AI inferencing closer to the source of data generation. This router, with high-density support for various interfaces, is ideal for metro, mobile backhaul, and enterprise routing applications.

On the other hand, Juniper has introduced the QFX5250 switch, a fully liquid-cooled box that supports Nvidia Rubin and/or AMD MI400 GPUs for AI consumption across the data center. Built on Broadcom Tomahawk 6 silicon, this switch provides impressive Ethernet bandwidth and integrated AIops intelligence for high-performance AI inference.

Furthermore, HPE and Juniper have expanded their partnerships with Nvidia and AMD to enhance their AI networking capabilities. The collaboration now includes support for HPE Juniper edge onramp and long-haul data center interconnect in the Nvidia AI Computing by HPE portfolio. This extension leverages HPE’s MX and Juniper’s PTX hyperscaler routers to facilitate secure, low-latency connections between AI factories and clusters deployed across longer distances or multiple clouds.
