The Galaxy S25 Edge: A Comprehensive Overview

The highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge is set to make its debut as the fourth model in Samsung’s flagship phone range. With its standout feature being its slim and lightweight design, this phone is sure to turn heads. Initially teased alongside its counterparts, the S25 Edge has since remained shrouded in mystery, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its official launch.

Offering a sleek and modern design, the Galaxy S25 Edge is poised to lead the way in a new era of slender smartphones. While other manufacturers, like Apple with the rumored iPhone 17 Air, may opt for the “Air” moniker, Samsung has chosen to go with “Edge” for this model. This marks the first time the company has used this name since the Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016, known for its curved screen edges.

Despite most of the Galaxy S25 series already being on the market for months, the S25 Edge has yet to hit shelves. This delay has only added to the anticipation surrounding this new addition to the lineup. Showcased in dummy form at events like MWC 2025, the S25 Edge was initially expected to launch in April. However, delays pushed the release date to May or June, with sources now pointing towards a confirmed launch on May 13th.

The question on everyone’s mind is when the Galaxy S25 Edge will be available for purchase. While the official announcement is expected in mid-May, global availability is projected by the end of the month. However, rumors suggest that the S25 Edge may not be offered through US carriers, adding a layer of complexity to its release strategy.

In terms of pricing, Samsung inadvertently revealed the cost of the S25 Edge on its Canadian website. Priced at CAD$1,678 for the 256GB model and CAD$1,858 for the 512GB variant, the S25 Edge is positioned to be a premium offering. With speculations placing its price between the S25+ and S25 Ultra models, it’s estimated to start around £1,200/$1,200. However, industry insiders anticipate that the actual price may exceed these figures, positioning the S25 Edge as a high-end device in the smartphone market.

As the countdown to the official launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge continues, fans and tech enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting more details on this innovative smartphone. With its cutting-edge design and advanced features, the S25 Edge is shaping up to be a standout device in Samsung’s lineup. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated release.

Recent reports from reliable sources indicate that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be priced between €1,200 and €1,300 for the 256GB model in Europe. This aligns with the information shared by Evleaks and Android Headlines, adding to the anticipation surrounding the new flagship device.

What to Expect from the Galaxy S25 Edge Specs

In summary:

  • The S25 Edge is expected to feature a thin profile, rumored to be as little as 5.8mm thick, constructed with materials like titanium and available in three color options.
  • The phone is likely to include a 200Mp rear camera paired with a 12Mp ultrawide camera for versatile photography.
  • The display of the S25 Edge will be flat, unlike previous ‘edge’ models from Samsung, measuring around 6.7 inches with an OLED panel and a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
  • Due to its slim design, the S25 Edge may house a smaller 3900mAh battery with slower charging capabilities compared to the S25 Ultra.

Design and Build

The standout feature of the Galaxy S25 Edge is its design, which is expected to be a major selling point for consumers. With a reported thickness of 5.84mm or possibly 6.4mm, the S25 Edge offers a sleek and lightweight profile compared to its predecessors. The phone is rumored to have a titanium frame, ceramic back, and front made from Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, ensuring durability and a premium feel.

Available in Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jet Black color options, the S25 Edge promises a stylish aesthetic. Additional accessories like a silicone case and Kindsuit Case are expected to enhance the user experience.

In an interview with TechRadar, Samsung’s Mobile Experience VP of Product and Marketing in the UK, Annika Bizon, emphasized the phone’s impressive form factor and durability, reassuring customers about the device’s build quality.

Battery and Charging

The slim design of the S25 Edge translates to a smaller 3900mAh battery, which may disappoint users looking for extended battery life. With 25W wired charging and potentially no wireless charging support, the S25 Edge falls short in this department compared to its competitors. The absence of advanced battery technologies like SiC (silicon carbon) could hinder the device’s overall performance.

It is speculated that Samsung might reserve significant battery upgrades for future models like the Galaxy S26 series, leaving consumers wanting more from the S25 Edge’s power capabilities.

Screen

Unlike previous ‘edge’ models, the S25 Edge features a flat screen, offering a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the display is expected to deliver vibrant colors and smooth visuals, it lacks the curved edges that were once a signature feature of Samsung’s flagship devices.

Overall, the Galaxy S25 Edge packs an array of exciting features and design elements that are sure to appeal to tech enthusiasts and Samsung fans. With a focus on aesthetics, camera capabilities, and display quality, the S25 Edge aims to set a new standard for premium smartphones in the market.

The upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner, although it may not be ultrasonic like the other models in the S25 series.

According to various sources such as OnLeaks, Ice Universe, and WinFuture, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to offer a unique camera setup. The device will come equipped with two rear cameras and a punch-hole selfie camera. The main rear camera is rumored to be a high-resolution 200Mp sensor, similar to the S25 Ultra, while the secondary rear camera will likely be a 12Mp ultrawide lens. The selfie camera is speculated to be a 12Mp 1/3.2-inch sensor, consistent with other models in the S25 lineup.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, possibly the overclocked ‘for Galaxy’ version. The device is expected to feature 12GB of RAM across all variants, with storage options of 256GB or 512GB. Unlike the S25 Ultra, there may not be a 1TB storage variant available for the S25 Edge. Additionally, the smartphone is anticipated to run on Android 15 with One UI 7, and include features like stereo speakers and Wi-Fi 7 for enhanced connectivity.

As more information becomes available, we will update this article accordingly with official details. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the Galaxy S25 Edge.
