Sony has finally unveiled the highly anticipated WH-1000XM6 noise cancelling headphones, set to be the top headphones of 2025. This new model comes after a longer than usual gap since the previous release in May 2022, promising the next level in noise cancelling technology with advanced features and improved performance.
The WH-1000XM6 boasts Sony’s most advanced noise cancelling capabilities yet, thanks to a new HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 that is seven times faster than its predecessor. With 12 microphones for real-time noise adaptation and AI beamforming for enhanced call quality, these headphones are designed to block out distractions effectively.
Featuring specially designed drivers for exceptional sound quality and collaboration with Grammy-winning engineers, the WH-1000XM6 ensures a premium audio experience. The headphones also come with top-notch features like High-Resolution Audio Wireless, LDAC, and DSEE Extreme, delivering clarity that aligns with the artists’ intentions.
In terms of design and features, the WH-1000XM6 sports a familiar yet upgraded look with a wider headband and stretchable earpads for a comfortable fit. The new folding mechanism and magnetic closing carry case add convenience to the user experience. Additionally, the headphones offer Scene-based Listening and faster USB-C charging for added functionality and efficiency. Despite a price increase to £400, the WH-1000XM6 is available in Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue color options, catering to individual preferences.
