Kevin Leneway, a seasoned engineering leader at the Pioneer Square Labs startup incubator in Seattle, has joined OpenAI as a solutions architect on the company’s startups team.
Leneway, a prominent figure in the Seattle tech community, has been at PSL since 2017, leading engineering efforts. Prior to this role, he co-founded Haiku Deck, a presentation software startup, in 2010, and served as a developer evangelist at Microsoft for five years.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Leneway announced his new role at OpenAI, stating that he will remain in Seattle to continue working with local startups. His goal is to establish a stronger connection between OpenAI and the Seattle startup community.
OpenAI has been expanding its presence in the Seattle area, having opened an office in Bellevue, Wash., in 2024 and acquiring Statsig, a product development platform, for $1.1 billion earlier this year.
