For those who have recently watched the latest episode of The Last of Us, my heart goes out to you.

The Last of Us Season 2 showcased its new season budget in full force with a dramatic scene of Infected attacking the sanctuary in Jackson, Wyoming. However, amidst the chaos, another significant event unfolded that may have caught fans off guard.

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE LAST OF US SEASON 2 BELOW

The introduction of Abby (played by Kaitlyn Dever) in episode 1 hinted at her quest for revenge, which she ultimately achieves. After a close encounter with a horde of Infected, she finds herself saved by none other than the man her team was hunting – Joel Miller (portrayed by Pedro Pascal).

Leading him back to her team, they ambush Joel, leaving Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) to discover his fate. The image of Joel’s body being dragged behind a horse solidifies his tragic demise.

While Joel’s death is not new to fans of the games, there were some notable differences in the show that I observed. Let’s delve into them.

Joel was with Dina, not Tommy

A significant change in the show was Joel patrolling with Ellie’s love interest, Dina, instead of his brother Tommy. This alteration allowed for a thrilling sequence showcasing Tommy’s defense of his town and a memorable battle with a Bloater.

Although the events leading to Joel’s demise remained similar, the show depicted Tommy getting knocked out, while Dina was drugged, deviating from the game’s storyline.

Abby’s golf club killing blow was different

Abby’s brutal attack on Joel with a golf club mirrored the game’s narrative, with one crucial difference – she stabs him in the neck instead of delivering a final blow to the head. The impact of this alteration on Joel’s death is palpable.

Following Joel’s death, the show introduced a heartbreaking change that added to the emotional weight of the scene.

Ellie wasn’t knocked out

In a departure from the original story, Ellie remains conscious after Joel’s death, witnessing the aftermath as Abby and her group leave the scene. Her devastated state as she cradles Joel’s lifeless body adds a poignant touch to the tragic ending.

As fans process these changes, it’s clear that The Last of Us Season 2 has reimagined key moments from the game in a compelling and emotionally impactful way.

One of the latest trends that has taken the fashion world by storm is the rise of sustainable fashion. As consumers become more aware of the environmental impact of fast fashion, they are opting for clothing and accessories that are made from eco-friendly materials and produced in an ethical manner.

Sustainable fashion is not only better for the environment, but it also supports fair labor practices and helps promote social responsibility within the fashion industry. Brands like Patagonia, Stella McCartney, and Eileen Fisher are leading the way in sustainable fashion, using recycled materials, organic cotton, and innovative production methods to create stylish and environmentally friendly clothing.

In addition to sustainable fashion, another trend that is gaining popularity is gender-neutral clothing. As society becomes more inclusive and accepting of diverse gender identities, fashion is evolving to reflect this shift. Gender-neutral clothing blurs the lines between traditional men’s and women’s fashion, offering a more fluid and inclusive approach to style.

Designers like Rad Hourani, Rick Owens, and Telfar Clemens are challenging gender norms and creating collections that are free from traditional gender constraints. By embracing gender-neutral fashion, individuals are able to dress in a way that feels authentic to them without being confined by societal expectations.

Overall, the world of fashion is becoming more diverse and inclusive, with trends like sustainable fashion and gender-neutral clothing leading the way. By supporting brands that prioritize ethical production practices and offering gender-neutral clothing options, consumers can contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive fashion industry.
