Trane Technologies has officially agreed to purchase LiquidStack, a company based in Carrollton, Texas, specializing in liquid cooling technology for data centers. LiquidStack’s innovative solutions cater to generative AI and hyperscale computing workloads, offering liquid, direct-to-chip, and immersion cooling systems that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and performance in data center operations and high-performance computing environments.

Trane Technologies Expands Data Centre Thermal Management Portfolio

Trane Technologies has announced its acquisition of LiquidStack, a leading provider of liquid cooling technology for data centers. This strategic move builds upon Trane’s previous investment in LiquidStack and will enhance Trane’s existing data center thermal management portfolio. LiquidStack’s cutting-edge technology will enable Trane to offer scalable solutions globally, further solidifying its position in the market.

Integration of LiquidStack’s Technology

Following the acquisition, LiquidStack’s team and operations in Texas and Hong Kong will be integrated into Trane Technologies’ Commercial HVAC business unit in the Americas. Joe Capes, co-founder and CEO of LiquidStack, will assume a leadership role within Trane Technologies, overseeing LiquidStack’s operations. This move is expected to streamline operations and drive further innovation within the company.

Expected Timeline and Impact

The transaction is set to be finalized in early 2026, pending the fulfillment of closing conditions. While financial details have not been disclosed, this acquisition comes on the heels of Trane Technologies’ impending acquisition of Stellar Energy. These strategic moves position Trane Technologies to expand its thermal management solutions across the data center ecosystem, catering to evolving industry needs.
