If you’re having trouble with your Gmail account today, you’re not alone. The Google Workspace status dashboard indicates that issues started around 5am Pacific time on Saturday, causing emails to be misclassified and extra spam warnings to appear.
Users like me found their Primary inbox flooded with emails that would normally go to different categories, and spam warnings showing up on legitimate emails. People on social media have also reported similar problems, with spam going directly to their inbox and filters not working properly.
Google is actively working on fixing the issue and advises users to be cautious with emails from unknown senders. TechCrunch has contacted Google for more information.
