Vertiv Announces Leadership Transition in EMEA Region

1. Paul Ryan to Succeed Karsten Winther as Regional President

Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has announced that chief procurement officer Paul Ryan will be taking over as the regional president for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) starting January 1, 2026. Ryan will succeed Karsten Winther, who is set to retire at the end of 2025 after leading the EMEA business through a period of growth and market volatility.

2. Acknowledgement of Winther’s Contributions

Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, praised Winther for his impactful contributions to the company during his tenure, especially in strengthening the EMEA region amidst complex market dynamics. Winther’s leadership and strategic insights have been instrumental in Vertiv’s success, as he progressed from leading regional sales to shaping business strategy and operational performance across EMEA.

3. Ryan’s Extensive Industry Experience and Leadership Qualities

Paul Ryan brings over twenty years of industry experience to his new role, having previously led Vertiv’s global procurement and supply chain operations. With a focus on resilience, continuity, and service levels, Ryan’s expertise in advancing global supply chains and procurement makes him the ideal candidate to drive further growth in the EMEA region. His internal succession to the role reflects Vertiv’s commitment to promoting talent from within and maintaining a high-performance culture.

In the interim, Patrick Grainey has been appointed as the acting chief procurement officer, while recruitment for a permanent replacement is underway. Ryan’s appointment signals a new chapter for Vertiv’s EMEA operations, as the company continues to navigate the evolving landscape of digital infrastructure solutions.
