Network Modernization Offerings

In a recent announcement, Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins highlighted the company’s network modernization offerings for enterprise customers. This includes a routing refresh, new technology in the data center networking business, and the success of Wi-Fi 7 gear, which experienced triple-digit growth. With the Catalyst 9000 offering now in its eighth year, Cisco aims to tap into billions of dollars of install base within its customer network.

Demand for AI Infrastructure

Robbins also discussed the increasing demand for AI infrastructure among enterprises. He emphasized the shift from cloud providers to enterprises adopting AI technologies, which is driving network modernization across various industry segments. As businesses leverage AI services and build out inferencing capabilities, the need for network modernization becomes essential, even in the telco sector.

Taking Aim at Security

Cisco’s focus on security remains strong, with double-digit growth in overall security orders in Q4. The company’s Hypershield and SSE solutions have gained traction, attracting new customers in the smart switch and secure services edge segments. Robbins highlighted the importance of integrating networking and security for agentic AI workloads, emphasizing the need to embed security into the core of the network to ensure seamless communication and low-latency connectivity.
