Riverbed Introduces Cutting-Edge Data Express Service for AI Data Movement

Fast and Secure Data Movement for AI Initiatives

In a recent statement, Oracle’s vice president of cloud engineering, Sachin Menon, highlighted the growing demand for faster and more secure ways to transfer massive datasets to fuel AI initiatives. Riverbed has answered this call with the introduction of its Data Express Service, designed to accelerate time to value, reduce costs, and ensure data protection.

    Enhanced Security with Post-Quantum Cryptography

Riverbed’s Data Express Service leverages post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to securely move petabyte-scale datasets through VPN tunnels. This cutting-edge technology, based on Riverbed’s SteelHead acceleration platform running RiOS 10 software, ensures that customer data remains protected throughout the transfer process.

    Maximizing Performance Across Cloud Platforms

Aras from Riverbed explains that the Data Express Service is optimized for cloud environments, delivering higher data retrieval, movement, and write rates. The design includes highly performant data mover instances, instance parallelization, and tailored configurations for each cloud platform to maximize performance. This ensures that organizations can achieve optimal results when transferring data for AI applications.

Addressing security concerns, Aras emphasizes the importance of preventing data interception for future decryption by utilizing the service now. Data Express is initially deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with plans to expand to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and on-premises data centers. General availability is expected in Q4 2025, offering organizations a powerful solution for large-scale AI data movement.
