Telehouse Announces Construction of £275 Million Data Centre, Telehouse West Two
Telehouse has officially started the construction of its newest data centre, Telehouse West Two, at the London Docklands campus. The £275 million facility is expected to be completed by 2028.
Key Features of Telehouse West Two:
- The data centre will utilize a combination of air and liquid cooling to support high-density environments.
- It will feature two meet-me rooms and four secure connectivity risers for interconnection purposes.
- Telehouse is committed to delivering uptime guarantees of 99.999% and aims for a BREEAM Excellent design.
Kenkichi Honda, Managing Director of Telehouse Europe, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “The new Telehouse West Two site represents a significant milestone in our mission to provide sustainable digital infrastructure. This expansion will enable enterprise clients from various sectors to leverage cutting-edge technologies while prioritizing energy efficiency and carbon neutrality.”
Technical Specifications and Sustainability Efforts:
- The nine-storey building will encompass a total of 32,000m², including 11,292m² of white space spread across six levels.
- Power will be supplied through two new 132kV substations, ensuring a building capacity of 33MW.
- Telehouse emphasizes low PUE and WUE targets, heat-recovery potential, and the use of HVO-fuelled backup generators for sustainability.
Security measures at Telehouse West Two include physical controls, 24/7 surveillance, on-site personnel, and real-time incident response protocols to safeguard the facility.
