Goodfire Raises $50M in Series A Funding for AI Interpretability Research

Goodfire, an AI interpretability research company based in San Francisco, CA, has successfully raised $50 million in Series A funding.

The funding round was led by Menlo Ventures, with the participation of Lightspeed Venture Partners, Anthropic, B Capital, Work-Bench, Wing, South Park Commons, and other investors.

The company plans to utilize the investment to drive its expansion efforts, further its research initiatives, and enhance the development of its flagship interpretability platform, Ember, in collaboration with its clients.

Goodfire, under the leadership of CEO Eric Ho, specializes in AI interpretability research and operates as a public benefit corporation. The company focuses on designing advanced AI systems, with its platform, Ember, offering insights into the inner workings of AI models. By providing direct access to the internal thoughts of AI models, Ember enables users to unlock new ways of applying, training, and aligning these models. This approach goes beyond traditional black-box inputs and outputs, allowing users to uncover hidden knowledge within their AI models.

Stay tuned for more updates from Goodfire as they continue to make strides in the field of AI interpretability.
