Yondr Group, a leading developer and operator of hyperscale data centers worldwide, has recently completed the initial phase of its second data center on its 100MW London campus. Situated in Slough, West London, known as the UK’s premier data center hub, the new facility has gone live with 10MW of its total 30MW capacity.
This achievement signifies Yondr’s strategic growth in Europe, with the commencement of construction on a third 40MW data center at the same London location earlier this year. The company’s first data center at the site became operational in mid-2024, while its Frankfurt project reached readiness in November 2024. These developments highlight Yondr’s expanding presence across key European data center markets.
The Slough facility is designed with a strong focus on sustainability, in alignment with Yondr’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals to achieve net zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 2030. The building has obtained a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certification and boasts an impressive annualized power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.21, surpassing industry standards. Notable sustainability features include a green wall on the southern facade, rooftop solar PV panels, and ample electric vehicle charging points. Yondr has also implemented a long-term horticultural strategy to ensure the vegetation on site matures and enhances the facility’s eco-friendly footprint.
In addition to its sustainability efforts, Yondr has actively engaged with the local community in Slough. Collaborating with the Slough Borough Council and the Canal & River Trust, the company has enhanced the surrounding environment of the data center campus. Extensive environmental cleanup was conducted on the former industrial site, once a paint factory, to address soil and groundwater contamination.
Yondr’s commitment to supporting local biodiversity is evident through the installation of bat and bird boxes, as well as the refurbishment of a nearby cycle path. The company has also launched a technical apprenticeship program linked to the project, with the goal of having four apprentices working on the campus by the end of 2025.

He emphasized how the transformation of a former industrial site into a cutting-edge data center reflects Yondr’s broader mission to bolster the UK’s digital economy and meet the increasing global demand for data services.
