Khazna Data Centers Expands Digital Infrastructure in the UAE

Khazna Data Centers has recently started the construction of two new data centers in the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant step in expanding its digital infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for AI and cloud services. The upcoming facilities, AUH4 in Mafraq and AUH8 in Masdar City, both situated in Abu Dhabi, are part of Khazna’s strategic efforts to support the UAE’s transition into a hub for cutting-edge digital and artificial intelligence capabilities.

These new data centers will complement Khazna’s current development in Ajman, known as QAJ1, which is expected to become the region’s first AI-optimized data center. All three sites are designed to meet LEED Gold standards and will feature advanced infrastructure to accommodate high-performance computing workloads necessary for AI applications.

The AUH4 and AUH8 projects are projected to provide a combined capacity of 60 megawatts. Khazna is adopting a modular construction approach to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and expedite deployment timelines. The Masdar City and Mafraq facilities are scheduled to be completed in August 2026 and December 2026, respectively. Both data centers will introduce leading regional Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) metrics by incorporating adiabatic free cooling systems to improve energy efficiency and meet sustainability goals.

The QAJ1 site in Ajman, with a planned capacity of 100 megawatts, is specifically designed for AI workloads and will feature liquid cooling systems to manage the high thermal output from modern GPUs and CPUs. The first phase of QAJ1 is set to be completed by the end of 2026 and will utilize AI-driven energy management systems to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

UAE Digital Infrastructure Strategy

Khazna’s latest developments underscore its role as a key player in the UAE’s national digital infrastructure strategy. With the increasing adoption of AI across various industries, the demand for reliable, scalable, and energy-efficient data center infrastructure continues to rise. By expanding its facilities, Khazna is well-positioned to meet the complex technical requirements of hyperscalers, enterprises, and public sector organizations seeking to implement AI solutions at scale.

This strategic expansion aligns with the UAE government’s objectives to strengthen digital capabilities and reduce dependence on external technology providers. Through localized infrastructure and advanced cooling and management systems, Khazna is playing a significant role in laying the groundwork for sustainable digital growth in the region.
