Exciting New Battery Health Menu Coming to Recent Google Pixel Devices
Google is gearing up to introduce a highly anticipated Battery Health menu as part of the upcoming Android 16 update for Pixel smartphones. However, this feature will be exclusive to newer devices released within the past year.
The Battery Health menu has been a topic of discussion within the Android community for some time now and has finally made its debut in the Android 16 Beta 3 release. This new menu will provide users with valuable insights into how their phone’s battery has degraded over time and usage, a feature that iPhone users have enjoyed for years.

According to Google’s Issue Tracker, the Battery Health Indicator feature will be available on Pixel 8a and Pixel 9 models, including the 9 Pro Fold, in the Android 16 Beta 3 release. However, older Pixel devices, such as the Pixel 8 Pro released in late 2023, will not be compatible with this feature due to product limitations.
While this exclusion may disappoint some Pixel users, there is still a possibility that the Battery Health menu could be extended to older devices in the future. Google’s response was specific to the beta version of Android 16 and does not rule out the feature being added to older models down the line.
It’s worth noting that Google’s decision to limit the Battery Health menu to newer devices, excluding models older than the Pixel 8a, may come as a surprise to some users. Having this feature available on entry-level models while leaving out higher-tier devices like the Pixel 8 Pro raises questions among the Pixel community.
