U.S. colocation provider CoreSite partners with Nokia to enhance network infrastructure

CoreSite, a leading data center colocation provider in the U.S., has teamed up with Nokia to implement a cutting-edge IP routing-based edge and core network solution across its national footprint. The collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for reliable and scalable interconnection services, particularly for AI-driven and data-intensive enterprise workloads.

Nokia will deploy its 7250 Interconnect Router (IXR-s) and 7750 Service Router (SR) in 30 CoreSite data centers across 11 major U.S. markets. This deployment is specifically designed to handle the increasing requirements of high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and multicloud environments. With over 40,000 interconnections on its campuses, CoreSite’s infrastructure is crucial for enterprise and cloud provider clients seeking low-latency, carrier-grade reliability, and seamless access to critical applications.

The adoption of Nokia’s networking portfolio will bring significant improvements in scalability, throughput, and operational efficiency for CoreSite. This move underscores the importance of advanced network edge infrastructure to support modern application demands, especially as power density and cooling capabilities become essential for emerging AI workloads. Chris Malayter, Vice President of Network and Interconnection at CoreSite, emphasized the need for exceptional reliability and performance to meet client expectations.

In conclusion, the partnership between CoreSite and Nokia signifies a significant advancement in enhancing CoreSite’s position in the competitive data center market. This collaboration reflects broader industry trends where robust network infrastructure plays a crucial role in AI and cloud transformation.
