Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon Talks About Company’s Expansion into Data Center Processors

In a recent CNBC interview, Cristiano Amon, the CEO of Qualcomm, discussed the company’s strategic move to expand into data center processors as part of a broader diversification effort. Amon highlighted Qualcomm’s disruptive CPU technology and energy-efficient AI capabilities as key factors that set the company apart in the AI-driven data center market.

Long-Term Growth Potential in the AI-Driven Data Center Market

During the interview with CNBC’s Arjun Kharpal at Computex, Amon emphasized Qualcomm’s vision for long-term growth in the AI-driven data center market. Despite the market being saturated with big players like Amazon, Google, AMD, and Intel, Amon drew parallels to Qualcomm’s successful ventures into the automotive and PC sectors, which were initially met with skepticism but proved to be profitable in the long run.

Collaborations and Integration

Qualcomm has already announced collaborations with Humane, a Saudi AI firm, and integration into NVIDIA’s ecosystem with NVLink support. Although Amon did not offer specific revenue forecasts for data centers, he reaffirmed the company’s $22 billion edge diversification target across various segments including automotive, PC, and spatial computing. A full product roadmap for Qualcomm’s data center CPUs is expected to be unveiled in the near future.

With Qualcomm making strategic moves to enter the data center processor market, it will be interesting to see how the company’s innovative technology and partnerships will shape the future of AI-driven data centers. Stay tuned for more updates on Qualcomm’s diversification efforts and product developments in this rapidly evolving industry.
