Polarnode, a newly established Finnish data center developer, is making significant strides in establishing Finland as a prominent hub for sustainable digital operations in Europe. With a team of professionals from the renewable energy sector, the company is currently advancing several large-scale infrastructure projects, with a total of six projects in the pipeline totaling over 500 megawatts of potential capacity.
In Pori, on Finland’s west coast, Polarnode is finalizing a land reservation agreement to develop a 100-megawatt data center on a 26-hectare industrial plot. In Heinola, in the southern part of the country, the company is working on a proposed 40-megawatt facility within the Vierumäki Business Park. These projects are part of Polarnode’s commitment to integrating sustainable energy strategies into the data center industry.
"Our approach is rooted in responsible collaboration with cities and stakeholders," said Mikko Toivanen, chairman of Polarnode’s board. "We aim to deliver long-term vitality from the data center industry by embedding its value directly into the local economy." With further projects underway in Lappeenranta and Nokia, Polarnode is poised to play a key role in Finland’s growing digital infrastructure sector.
