Atmosic Technologies, a leading wireless IoT platform provider, has teamed up with AONDevices, a provider of edge AI processors, to combine AI capabilities with wireless technology for AIoT and wearable applications.

The ATM Series wireless SoC by Atmosic includes integrated power management and energy harvesting features, RF radios supporting Bluetooth Low Energy and 802.15.4 protocols, memory, and an application processor.

This SoC also offers a range of peripherals such as GPIO, ADCs, serial interfaces, and keyboard scan matrices. On the other hand, AONDevices’ AON series of AI processors provide functionalities like voice command recognition, sound awareness, and multi-sensor fusion.

CEO of AONDevices, Mouna Elkhatib, highlights the importance of AI in reducing power consumption by validating triggers before energy-consuming events occur, thus optimizing radio transmissions and cloud data processing.

AONDevices’ AI technology supports speaker independence in voice control scenarios, enhancing energy efficiency in always-on and multi-word detection situations through adaptive voice activity detection.

Mike Fortin, SVP of sales at Atmosic, emphasizes the benefits of using AI in security applications to accurately differentiate between sounds, enabling sensors to conserve energy reserves by remaining in a sleep state until needed.

By leveraging Atmosic’s solution, developers can create eco-friendly products by minimizing battery reliance, thereby reducing environmental impact from battery disposal. The partnership between Atmosic and AONDevices aims to further decrease energy consumption from false sensor detections.

Both companies offer development kits to expedite product development for various applications such as headsets, wearables, smart home devices, and industrial equipment, with AI models easily deployable within hours.

In addition to their collaboration, AONDevices has formed a strategic partnership with Seltech International to expand their global presence in sectors like wearables, automotive, and personal devices by integrating low-power edge AI technologies into Seltech’s acoustic solutions.
