Article:
LiquidStack has recently launched the revolutionary GigaModular™ CDU, a cutting-edge Coolant Distribution Unit designed to address the escalating demand for efficient data center cooling systems. This innovative solution boasts a remarkable cooling capacity of up to 10MW, setting a new standard in the industry for scalability and performance. With the rapid proliferation of AI, cloud computing, and other data-intensive technologies, the global data center liquid cooling market is projected to skyrocket from $5.17 billion in 2025 to approximately $15.75 billion by 2030. This surge in demand is fuelled by the unprecedented heat densities generated by advanced technologies, such as Nvidia’s upcoming B300 and GB300 hardware, which are set to push rack power densities to 600kW by 2027.
According to Joe Capes, CEO of LiquidStack, the increasing thermal output of AI workloads necessitates cooling systems that can adapt to rising heat rejection demands. The GigaModular CDU is specifically engineered to meet these challenges, offering up to 10MW of cooling capacity at N, N+1, or N+2 configurations. This modular platform enables seamless scalability, supporting Direct-to-Chip liquid cooling heat loads ranging from 2.5MW to 10MW. Key features of the GigaModular CDU include a high-efficiency IE5 pump module, dual BPHx for scalable performance, centralized control module for enhanced efficiency, and centralized instrumentation kits for optimized control.
Moreover, the GigaModular CDU is designed for ease of maintenance and serviceability, featuring a front-access design that eliminates the need for rear or end access. This user-friendly approach allows the system to be conveniently placed against a wall, optimizing space utilization in data center environments. For added convenience, LiquidStack offers an optional configuration of a skid-mounted system with pre-installed rail and overhead piping, or separate cabinets for on-site assembly.
To showcase the capabilities of the GigaModular CDU, LiquidStack will be presenting a live demonstration at the upcoming Datacloud Global Congress in Cannes, France, from June 3 – 5. Attendees can experience the immersive VR demonstration at Booth #88, gaining firsthand insights into the future-proof design and unmatched performance of this groundbreaking cooling solution.
