Summary:
1. LINX partners with INDATEL to expand affordable, high-performance internet services in underserved areas of the U.S.
2. The collaboration focuses on LINX NoVA in Northern Virginia, offering direct access to global content and cloud services to improve network performance.
3. The partnership allows networks to bypass traditional transit routes, reducing latency and costs for regional providers.

Article:
The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has recently formed a strategic partnership with INDATEL, a network of over 900 regional and rural broadband providers in the U.S. This collaboration aims to enhance access to cost-effective, high-performance peering and interconnection services in underserved areas, aligning with LINX’s mission to democratize internet connectivity.

At the heart of this partnership is LINX NoVA, a neutral Internet Exchange Point (IXP) located in Northern Virginia, known as the data center hub of the U.S. LINX NoVA offers networks direct, low-latency access to global content, cloud services, and critical infrastructure through five major data center access points in the region. This setup not only improves network performance but also provides architectural flexibility, particularly beneficial for smaller ISPs serving rural communities.

One of the key advantages of this collaboration is the ability for networks to bypass traditional transit routes by peering directly at LINX NoVA. By doing so, regional providers can significantly reduce latency, lower transport costs, and enhance overall service quality, meeting the increasing demands of customers without incurring extensive urban infrastructure expenses.

The partnership between LINX and INDATEL signifies a crucial investment in the future of broadband expansion, particularly in rural areas. INDATEL, which connects rural carriers across 47 states, welcomes LINX into its family of reliable supplier affiliate partners. This collaboration aims to empower rural and regional providers by granting them better access to cloud platforms, content providers, and global networks, ultimately strengthening internet access in underserved parts of the U.S.

With LINX NoVA experiencing a substantial increase in traffic last year, the platform demonstrates its scalability to meet current demands and accommodate future growth. Its neutral, member-owned structure and flexible interconnection model position LINX NoVA as a future-ready solution for internet connectivity. The partnership with INDATEL extends this model to rural broadband providers, offering a new pathway towards robust, resilient internet access in underserved areas of the United States.
