Revolutionizing Transportation
At the event, Chinese automakers unveiled their vision for “flying cars,” compact electric aircraft with multiple rotors designed for short trips. Xpeng’s Land Aircraft Carrier, set for mass production in 2026, features a fold-out two-seat electric aircraft that will be available in China for under 2 million yuan ($281,000).
Similarly, GAC’s Govy presented the AirCab, a two-seater self-driving electric aircraft with a top speed of 120 km/h and a range of up to 30 kilometers. With 1,500 AirCabs already ordered at 1.68 million yuan each, the future of urban air mobility seems promising.
Innovative Robotics
Among the standout innovations was the Go2 robotic dog, equipped for various tasks in hazardous environments. Eve Energy, the company behind the batteries for Go2, envisions a future where robotic dogs replace humans in dangerous situations, highlighting the shift towards automation in industries.
Eco-Friendly Electric Vehicles
Austrian innovator Wolfgang Podleiszek introduced a unique two-wheeled electric car that maneuvers like a segway, requiring drivers to lean into turns. His company, Wolf eMobility, aims to revolutionize personal transportation with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
Next-Gen Public Transport
Companies like Holon from Germany and Auve Tech from Estonia showcased compact self-driving buses tailored for cost-effective routes. With an aging population in mind, these autonomous vehicles aim to provide accessible public transport options for individuals who prefer not to drive long distances.
The Rise of Robotics
Xpeng’s humanoid robot, Iron, stole the show at the fair, with plans to deploy them in various roles within the company. Through advanced training methods and data collection, Xpeng is paving the way for a future where robots seamlessly integrate into daily operations.
