Over 400 partners from across Asia Pacific recently convened in Thailand for Huawei Cloud’s annual partner conference, where the focus was on leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance services and meet the increasing demands of various industries. The theme of this year’s conference was “Go Together, Grow Together,” emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving mutual growth.

Jacqueline Shi, the head of global marketing and sales at Huawei Cloud, highlighted the company’s commitment to regional partnerships, noting the rapid advancements in AI adoption by governments, banks, telecom companies, and internet firms. Huawei Cloud aims to support this shift by providing upgraded tools and services to its partners.

In order to assist local partners in either getting started or scaling up their operations, Huawei Cloud has established a competence center specifically for the Asia Pacific region. This center will offer training, technical support, and marketing assistance to ensure that partners can build successful businesses on Huawei Cloud’s platform.

Asia Pacific has become a key focus area for Huawei Cloud, with the company reporting a thirty-fold increase in business growth in the region over the past five years. Working with more than 2,500 partners, Huawei Cloud has established five cloud regions and 18 availability zones, offering comprehensive coverage in most of Asia Pacific.

Sunny Shang, President of Huawei Cloud Asia Pacific, attributed this growth to the company’s local-first approach. He introduced a revamped version of the Partner Sales Acceleration Program, which provides product support, joint development funds, and collaborative go-to-market planning. Huawei Cloud is actively collaborating with partners to develop 50 new industry solutions and is tripling the funding available for joint marketing efforts.

Huawei Cloud’s “Industry Deep-Dive Initiative” focuses on three key sectors: internet, finance, and telecom. The company aims to foster better collaboration models in each sector by emphasizing practical use cases and assisting partners in delivering relevant solutions. Joy Huang, in charge of strategy and industry development at Huawei Cloud, emphasized the increasing impact of AI in various industries and the company’s investments in AI-native infrastructure to support partners and customers.

Huawei Cloud’s “Cloud for AI” and “AI for Cloud” approaches are supported by six core capabilities, including secure and reliable cloud services, a global infrastructure with low latency, cloud-native tools, foundational AI models, knowledge-based data tools, and coordination between cloud and connected devices. The company has expanded its network to 33 regions and 96 availability zones globally, offering a robust and low-latency network for its partners.

William Fang, Chief Product Officer at Huawei Cloud, shared insights into the company’s infrastructure roadmap, highlighting the enhancements made to support large AI workloads and data volumes. Huawei Cloud now supports distributed cloud setups, native AI storage, and hybrid deployment options. The company’s Pangu models are being optimized for various applications, and new AI computing centers in Asia Pacific are enabling local firms to train and deploy models without relying on global data centers.

The company aims to simplify the process for partners to develop, test, and sell AI-powered solutions on its platform. In Asia Pacific, Huawei Cloud is focusing on deeper collaboration in key industries and providing better tools to support sales efforts, including targeted marketing, technical account managers, and shared sales resources.

Leon Yu, a Huawei Cloud executive specializing in partner programs, highlighted the company’s steady growth in the ecosystem, now working with over 45,000 partners and 50,000 developers. The Partner-Customer Engagement program generates approximately 20 million leads each month, demonstrating the effectiveness of Huawei Cloud’s partnership initiatives. Yu emphasized the shift in IT investment towards SaaS and highlighted the company’s ecosystem grounded in shared goals, technical support, and talent.

During the conference, regional partners such as AIS, SCash Global, Orange Business, and Chulalongkorn University shared their experiences collaborating with Huawei Cloud, focusing on joint development efforts and the alignment of products with local needs.
