Glencore Bounces Back with Net Profit in FY25, Adjusted EBITDA Declines

Glencore Plc (GLEN.L, GLNCY.PK, GLCNF.PK) reported a profit in fiscal 2025, with increased revenues but decreased adjusted EBIT and adjusted EBITDA. The company’s net income attributable to equity holders was $363 million, a significant improvement from the prior year’s loss of $1.63 billion. Despite a 14% drop in adjusted EBIT and a 6% decrease in adjusted EBITDA, Glencore’s revenue grew by 7% to $247.535 billion. The firm also announced a top-up cash distribution of $7c/share and plans to increase copper production in the coming years. (NASDAQ:GLEN)

Glencore Plc Reports Profit in Fiscal 2025

Glencore Plc, a commodity trading and mining company, announced a turnaround in its financial performance for fiscal 2025. The company’s net income attributable to equity holders stood at $363 million, marking a significant improvement from the previous year’s loss of $1.63 billion. Despite a decline in adjusted EBIT and adjusted EBITDA, Glencore reported a 7% increase in revenue to $247.535 billion.

Key Financial Metrics

Adjusted EBIT fell by 14% to $5.98 billion, while adjusted EBITDA dropped by 6% to $13.51 billion compared to the previous year. However, the company managed to meet its guidance for full-year production volumes for key commodities.

Future Outlook and Expansion Plans

Glencore aims to produce over 1 million tonnes annually by the end of 2028 and targets around 1.6 million tonnes of copper production by 2035. The firm also announced a top-up cash distribution of $7c/share, with plans to pay a total aggregate cash distribution of $17c/share in two equal instalments in June and September.
