Google and Apple Issue Travel Warning for Employees on Visas

Google and Apple’s legal representatives caution employees requiring a visa stamp to re-enter the US against leaving the country due to extended visa processing times, as reported by Business Insider.

Business Insider reveals that BAL Immigration Law, representing Google, and Fragomen, representing Apple, have issued advisories.

Fragomen’s memo reportedly urges employees without a valid H-1B visa stamp to avoid international travel due to potential unpredictable delays in returning to the US.

The State Department spokesperson informed Business Insider that embassies are prioritizing thorough vetting of each visa case.

Salon discloses that numerous Indian professionals renewing their US work visas in December faced canceled or rescheduled embassy appointments due to new social media vetting requirements.

TechCrunch is seeking comments from Google and Apple regarding the situation. Both companies, along with other tech giants, previously issued warnings in response to the White House’s announcement of a $100,000 fee for H-1B visa applications.
