Article:

Huawei recently introduced the Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0, a significant enhancement to its data center networking platform that was unveiled at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2025’s first Data Center Innovation Summit. This update is positioned as a fundamental tool for building “always-on” data center networks that can fully unleash computing power while meeting the demands of digital transformation in the age of artificial intelligence.

During the summit, Arthur Wang, President of Huawei Data Center Network Domain, highlighted the importance of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and the continuous evolution of cloud architectures. The Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0 is structured around a three-layer architecture comprising AI Brain, AI Connectivity, and AI Network Elements. These layers integrate a variety of new technologies such as the NetMaster network agent, the StarryWing Digital Map automation framework, training and inference scheduling engines, and Huawei’s Rock Solid Architecture.

The AI Brain layer introduces automation capabilities through drag-and-drop service orchestration, automated deployment, and integrated operations and maintenance across diverse networks and security domains. This can greatly enhance operational efficiency for enterprises managing complex, distributed environments. The AI Connectivity layer incorporates network-scale load balancing algorithms to increase network throughput by up to 95% and improve training and inference efficiency by over 10%. Additionally, reliability is bolstered through iReliable three-level technology based on the Rock Solid Architecture, claiming to provide up to ten times higher reliability compared to traditional methods.

On a hardware level, the AI Network Elements layer introduces CloudEngine general-purpose computing switches, XH series intelligent computing switches, and StarryLink optical modules. These components are designed for precise traffic awareness, real-time visualization of packet loss and latency, and enhanced intrinsic security. Huawei emphasizes the group-based isolation features as an additional layer of defense to fortify data center resilience against emerging threats.

With the release of Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0, Huawei aims to align data center network innovation with the growing demands of AI workloads. By combining automation, increased throughput, advanced scheduling, and integrated security, the company targets enterprise and hyperscale operators looking to maintain performance at scale. This launch reflects the broader industry trend towards re-architecting infrastructure for AI-driven applications while prioritizing reliability, efficiency, and security.
