Seattle startup Boundless Immigration recently made headlines with a strategic move that involved laying off a portion of its workforce and acquiring Localyze, a company based in Berlin that caters to individuals immigrating to European countries. The company’s spokesperson, Rachel Pepple, confirmed the reduction in force, which brought Boundless’s employee count down to around 500.
Boundless CEO Xiao Wang addressed the layoffs in a message to employees, emphasizing that the decision was not a reflection of the departing employees’ dedication or performance. Despite the workforce reduction, Boundless remains focused on its mission of assisting immigrants and their families in navigating the complex U.S. immigration process.
Wang shared financial insights with the team, revealing that Boundless is on track to achieve a 40% growth rate this year, with expenses rising by 80% compared to the previous year. The company forecasts $31 million in sales for 2025 and aims to achieve profitability by 2027.
Boundless’s acquisition of Localyze marks a significant expansion in its services, now offering support for immigration processes in various European countries, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. The integration of Localyze’s technology into Boundless’s platform is expected to enhance the overall customer experience.
Established in 2017, Boundless has secured over $50 million in funding and previously acquired two other companies to strengthen its position in the market. On the other hand, Localyze, founded in 2018, has raised more than $47 million and employs approximately 40 individuals, who are set to join Boundless’s operations.
