About Doug Loewe
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Doug Loewe brings over 35 years of experience as a successful international business executive in the global technology industry. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in start-ups, scale-ups, and large corporations. Loewe has held senior positions at renowned companies such as Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), Virtus, Yondr, Interxion, Rackspace, and CompuServe Network Services.
Loewe holds a degree in computer science from Ohio State University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and has completed a director’s course at Harvard Business School. He is also a Distinguished Executive in Residence (DEIR) at the University of Chicago and actively participates in mentoring, humanitarian, and philanthropic activities with a focus on technology.
Leading Kao Data’s Growth
With a background in pioneering large-scale data interconnection and AI inference data center developments, Loewe is set to lead Kao Data’s growth strategy in the UK and continental Europe. His goal is to expand Kao Data’s high-performance colocation platform engineered for AI and advanced computing into new territories and emerging data center hubs.
Loewe’s arrival at Kao Data comes at a pivotal moment for the company, following a year of successful new customer acquisitions in AI, hyperscale cloud, research, and financial services. In 2023, the company secured a new capital structure from shareholders Infratil Ltd, Legal & General Capital, and Goldacre Noé Group, investing £350 million in a state-of-the-art data center in Greater Manchester. Additionally, Kao Data’s KLON-02 data center in Harlow is now fully operational, solidifying its position as a leading location for GPU-powered AI and advanced workloads in the UK.
