Legrand, a renowned expert in electrical and digital building infrastructures on a global scale, has recently completed the acquisition of Computer Room Solutions (CRS), as part of its ongoing strategy to expand through bolt-on acquisitions. This strategic move aims to bolster Legrand’s presence in the rapidly growing data center market, particularly in the Oceania region.
Headquartered in Mascot, Sydney, CRS is a well-established provider of mission-critical infrastructure solutions designed for high-density IT environments, including data centers. With a team of approximately 80 experts, CRS generates an annual revenue of around €30 million. The company specializes in offering sophisticated solutions that cater to the evolving needs of businesses, cloud services, and colocation facilities. Their expertise lies in white space infrastructure, encompassing containment systems, mechanical walls, airflow optimization, and structural ceilings.
The acquisition of CRS by Legrand complements the company’s existing portfolio of white and gray space offerings, enhancing its ability to cater to a wider range of data center requirements across Australia and neighboring markets. According to Legrand CEO Benoît Coquart, “This acquisition will significantly enhance our presence in Oceania and the promising data center sector, which accounted for approximately 20% of the Group’s revenue in 2024.”
Computer Room Solutions brings over 20 years of experience in designing, constructing, and maintaining high-performance IT environments to Legrand. Their services encompass precision cooling, UPS systems, environmental and energy monitoring, access control, and fire suppression. These services are underpinned by modular, scalable architectures tailored for hybrid, edge, and hyperscale deployments.
With a strong reputation for engineering excellence and project delivery, CRS is a trusted partner for clients in various sectors such as finance, healthcare, government, education, and telecommunications. The acquisition not only expands Legrand’s footprint in Oceania but also strengthens its capabilities in providing sustainable, high-efficiency infrastructure for the global data center industry.
