Summary:
1. Oracle introduces new cloud networking architecture called Oracle Acceleron to enhance performance, security, and efficiency across various workloads.
2. Acceleron integrates software and hardware advancements to streamline data movement in the cloud, offering predictable high-bandwidth and ultra-low latency performance.
3. The new capabilities of Acceleron operate across fabric, host, and packet levels, aiming to address challenges in managing massive data movement for complex workloads without compromising security or scalability.

Rewritten Article:
Oracle has recently unveiled its latest innovation in cloud networking architecture, known as Oracle Acceleron, to revolutionize the performance, security, and efficiency of workloads in the cloud. This new generation of cloud networking is designed to streamline data movement and enhance speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The Acceleron suite represents a significant leap forward in how Oracle handles data movement in the cloud. By integrating a range of software and hardware advancements, including dedicated fabric networks, multi-planar routing, converged network interface cards (NICs), and host-level zero-trust packet routing, Oracle aims to deliver high-bandwidth, low-latency performance with built-in security and resiliency.

One of the key challenges that Oracle Acceleron addresses is managing massive data movement for complex workloads like AI and analytics without compromising on security or scalability. Oracle claims that the new architecture offers up to twice the network processing capacity and storage IOPS, with line-rate encryption throughput and microsecond-level latency, all at no additional cost to customers.

The new capabilities of Acceleron operate across three primary layers of Oracle’s networking architecture: fabric, host, and packet levels. At the fabric level, dedicated network fabrics isolate traffic for specific workloads, ensuring predictable latency and throughput even at hyperscale. The multi-planar network design connects each customer NIC to multiple isolated planes, enhancing resiliency and reducing tail latency, critical for time-sensitive AI workloads.

Furthermore, Acceleron introduces fabric accelerator technology to remove intermediaries from network paths, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall efficiency. At the host level, a converged NIC combines customer and provider network planes while maintaining isolation between them, supporting NVMe-over-TCP for storage acceleration, line-rate encryption, and live patching without downtime.

In terms of security, Oracle has re-engineered packet-level security with Zero-Trust Packet Routing (ZPR), ensuring that only authorized traffic reaches sensitive endpoints. This includes deny-based identity and access management (IAM) policies to prevent unauthorized inspection paths, protecting data at the host before it traverses the network.

Overall, Oracle Acceleron reflects Oracle’s broader strategy of building a high-performance cloud optimized for data-intensive applications and artificial intelligence. Industry partners like Arista Networks and AMD have already aligned with Oracle’s vision, emphasizing the innovation and collaboration in delivering next-generation AI networking through Oracle Acceleron. With Acceleron as the backbone of OCI’s growth, Oracle is poised to meet the demands of AI clusters and enterprise applications for deterministic network performance.
