Revolutionizing E-Commerce: YouTube’s Shopping Product Stickers for Shorts

YouTube has announced updates to the Shopping experience for Shorts, introducing new Shopping product stickers to indicate that the products featured in the Shorts are shoppable.

The latest enhancements on YouTube Shorts are set to revolutionize the shopping experience for viewers and creators alike. By introducing new Shopping product stickers, YouTube aims to streamline the process of identifying and purchasing products featured in Shorts. This update is expected to not only enhance the user experience but also provide creators with a new opportunity to boost their earnings.

In recent testing, YouTube found that Shorts featuring Shopping product stickers received over 40% more clicks on products compared to those with the traditional Shopping button. This significant increase in engagement underscores the potential of these new stickers to drive sales and conversions.

Previously, tagged products in Shorts were displayed in a banner in the bottom-left corner. By clicking on the banner, viewers could access a list of available products for browsing and shopping. However, with the introduction of Shopping product stickers, creators now have the ability to tag products in their Shorts and automatically generate stickers based on the first product tagged. This streamlined process allows for greater customization in terms of size and placement of the sticker.

When multiple products are tagged in a Short, viewers can simply tap on the downward arrow on the sticker to view the complete list of products. Clicking on a specific product of interest will redirect the viewer to the retailer’s website for further details and purchase.

The rollout of Shopping product stickers is scheduled to take place over the next week and will be available globally, with the exception of South Korea. However, YouTube has plans to introduce this feature in South Korea in the near future.

During his appearance at Cannes Lions 2025, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan shared that Shorts are now achieving over 200 billion daily views. Additionally, Mohan revealed that Google’s Veo 3 video generator, capable of producing both video and audio content, will soon be integrated into Shorts, promising further innovation and creativity within the platform.
