iON+ is a revolutionary energy asset management software that has recently been introduced as a Software as a Service (SaaS) product. In a major development, iON+ has partnered with Hexa, a prominent energy provider in Japan, to manage their portfolio of battery energy storage systems effectively.
Under the agreement, iON+ will be implemented across Hexa’s portfolio, with plans to deploy battery systems at more than 10 sites over the next three years in alignment with Japan’s seventh Strategic Energy Plan.
Developed by industry experts for the energy sector, iON+ is compatible with various generation and storage technologies from different manufacturers. The software comprises four modules designed to enhance the performance of different aspects of an energy asset portfolio, including operations, dispatch, optimization, and analysis.
The customized version of iON+ provided to Hexa will cater to the specific requirements of Japan’s electricity market, addressing unique challenges across Transmission System Operator regions.
Tony O’Carroll, CEO of iON+, expressed excitement about the software’s launch and the collaboration with Hexa, emphasizing the extensive experience behind the product’s development. He highlighted iON+’s role in maximizing opportunities amidst the ongoing energy transition.
Rhys Kirk, CTO of iON+, emphasized the importance of intelligence in facilitating the energy transition, noting that iON+ will simplify grid complexity and enhance the efficiency and profitability of diverse energy portfolios.
Yuko Shah, Executive Manager at Hexa Energy Services, underscored the significance of iON+ in supporting Japan’s carbon neutrality goals by providing scalable, technology-agnostic software with a proven track record. The implementation of iON+ across Hexa’s assets is expected to enhance oversight and contribute significantly to Japan’s decarbonization targets.
Shah further emphasized the importance of energy optimization and the partnership with iON+ in navigating future challenges and capitalizing on emerging opportunities in the evolving energy landscape.
