Article:
Oracle and NVIDIA have recently announced an expansion of their partnership, aiming to revolutionize enterprise AI services by making them more accessible, powerful, and practical. During the Oracle AI World event, exciting developments were unveiled, ranging from cutting-edge hardware to deeply integrated software designed to seamlessly integrate AI into a company’s data infrastructure.

Ian Buck, VP of Hyperscale and High-Performance Computing at NVIDIA, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, emphasizing the advancements in accelerated computing that streamline database AI pipelines, enhance data processing speed, and facilitate the deployment and scalability of inference on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The headline announcement of the partnership is the introduction of the OCI Zettascale10 computing cluster, which leverages NVIDIA GPUs to support AI training and inference workloads. With a staggering 16 zettaflops of peak AI compute performance, this platform is a game-changer in the realm of enterprise AI, offering efficient scaling capabilities through NVIDIA’s Spectrum-X Ethernet networking fabric.

However, the true value of this partnership lies in the software integrations that aim to embed AI into every layer of a business’s operations. The foundation of this strategy is the Oracle AI Database 26ai, which challenges the conventional approach of moving data to AI models by advocating for bringing AI to the data. This database release embodies the vision of “AI for Data,” making AI insights and innovations easily accessible and secure within a business’s existing data infrastructure.

The Oracle AI Database 26ai introduces the concept of running agentic AI workflows within the database, enabling complex queries that combine private and public data without compromising security. Additionally, the database prioritizes security with NIST-approved quantum-resistant algorithms for data encryption, ensuring protection against future quantum computing threats.

In alignment with NVIDIA’s toolset, the Oracle AI Database is designed to seamlessly integrate with NVIDIA NeMo Retriever, enhancing capabilities like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for more accurate responses. Furthermore, the Oracle Private AI Services Container will receive a GPU-powered boost, accelerating tasks like creating vector embeddings for AI applications.

The partnership goes beyond database enhancements, aiming to simplify the entire AI pipeline through the Oracle AI Data Platform, which now includes an integrated NVIDIA GPU option and the NVIDIA RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark. By consolidating tools and capabilities within the Oracle AI Hub, organizations can build, deploy, and manage AI solutions efficiently.

By bringing together hardware, data, and software tools into a cohesive ecosystem, Oracle and NVIDIA are paving the way for practical, secure, and scalable enterprise AI solutions. This collaboration addresses the real-world challenges faced by businesses in adopting AI, offering a comprehensive suite of tools and services to empower organizations in their AI journey.
