Ever since Samsung introduced its artificial intelligence tools, there has been speculation about whether users would eventually have to pay for them. While the current access is free with the purchase of a Galaxy S25 or other Samsung phone, the long-term pricing remains uncertain.
The process of running AI queries consumes a significant amount of energy, relying on cloud processing power and the extensive research and development investments that went into creating these tools. Samsung’s decision to keep Galaxy AI free of charge around the launch of the latest Galaxy models indicates a temporary reprieve from potential costs.

What Samsung says about potential Galaxy AI charges
During an interview with Kadesh Beckford, Smartphone Specialist Product Manager at Samsung UK, the question of potential charges for Galaxy AI features was raised. Here is their response:
“At the moment, the existing AI features on our devices are provided free of charge. We are closely monitoring market trends and our own developments, focusing on delivering essential features to our customers. Any changes in our approach will be communicated clearly. For now, there are no plans to introduce charges for our customers.”
While this statement does not guarantee that Galaxy AI will always be free, it suggests that Samsung is evaluating its pricing strategy. As we await further updates from Samsung, it is reassuring to know that Galaxy AI remains accessible at no cost for the time being.
