Zeem Solutions, a company based in Los Angeles, is receiving $1.5 million in truck purchasing incentives from the City of Seattle to assist in transitioning commercial trucking fleets to electrification. The partnership aims to introduce 12 new electric drayage trucks at the Port of Seattle, in collaboration with Jet City Trucking LLC and Ephrata Trucking LLC.

Zeem, a key player in the electrification of fleets serving the Port of Seattle, is working with local operators to bring electric drayage trucks to the forefront. The city’s Heavy Duty Electric Trucks pilot, initiated in 2023, has paved the way for this innovative partnership with Zeem. The company offers comprehensive electric vehicle solutions to commercial fleets, including charging infrastructure and funding distribution to drayage operators in the area.

In addition to the recent funding from the City of Seattle, Zeem received $5.12 million from the Northwest Seaport Alliance to establish a commercial fleet charging depot in SeaTac, Washington. This initiative will support six fleet operators in deploying trucks at the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma. The SeaTac Depot, set to be completed in early 2026, will accommodate up to 250 vehicle charges per day, with overnight parking for 70 vehicles.

Jet City Trucking LLC and Ephrata Trucking LLC are on track to have their electric vehicles operational and charging at the SeaTac Depot by the conclusion of 2026. Mayor Bruce Harrell of Seattle highlighted the importance of reducing emissions in frontline communities by transitioning from diesel drayage trucks to electric alternatives. The effort not only aims to benefit the environment but also supports drivers in embracing opportunities within the zero-emission economy.
