A significant 53% of IT professionals still consider dedicated servers essential, with almost half expecting the role of dedicated servers to grow by 2030. The majority of respondents use dedicated servers for databases, file storage, and web hosting.

One interesting finding from the survey is that 32% of IT professionals believe their current cloud spend is wasted on features or capacity they don’t fully utilize. This highlights the need for more customization options from cloud service providers. Additionally, on-premises computing is on the rise, with 34% of respondents reporting increased spending on dedicated servers in 2024 compared to previous years.
