Microsoft is currently investigating a DNS issue that is causing disruptions in its Azure Front Door content delivery network. This problem has led to widespread service outages affecting various key applications.
According to reports from Down Detector, numerous Microsoft Azure users have experienced outages. The impact of this issue has also been felt across other Microsoft services such as 365, Minecraft, and Xbox.
In addition to Microsoft’s services, customers trying to access websites like Starbucks, Kroger, and Costco have reported spikes in outages.
The Azure status portal has acknowledged the issue, stating that it began experiencing DNS problems, leading to service unavailability and potential issues with accessing the Azure Portal.
To mitigate portal access issues, Azure Front Door has been removed from the portal. Customers are advised to use programmatic methods like PowerShell or CLI if they encounter difficulties accessing the portal directly.
This recent outage follows a similar widespread global outage that affected AWS last week, resulting in significant service disruptions.
Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as more information becomes available. DCN will continue to provide updates as the situation progresses.
