Small businesses are no longer lagging behind in technology adoption, thanks to AI. However, they still face challenges such as lack of time, skills, resources, and concerns about security and privacy. These limitations continue to hinder their ability to fully leverage new technologies.

AI is revolutionizing how small businesses operate, overcoming the stereotypes of being technology laggards. While they understand the importance of new technologies, they often lack the time, skills, and resources needed to fully embrace them. Additionally, concerns about security and privacy remain significant barriers to adoption. Despite these challenges, AI adoption among SMBs is on the rise, with only 18% having no plans to integrate AI into their operations.

BIZTECH: Key Highlights from the AI Survey

MCCABE: Our recent survey delved into the current adoption of AI among small and medium-sized businesses, exploring their plans, benefits, risks, skill gaps, trust levels, and areas of AI application. We also examined whether businesses are considering replacing employees with AI technologies.

Smaller firms, especially those with fewer than 100 employees, face challenges in gearing up for AI due to time constraints and knowledge gaps. However, overall AI adoption is gaining momentum, with only a small percentage of SMBs showing no interest in leveraging AI.
