Europe’s inaugural multimodal quantum data center has been unveiled in Barcelona, Spain by Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech. This cutting-edge facility is set to provide cloud-based quantum computing services, housing up to 10 quantum computers and marking Europe’s foray into multimodal quantum infrastructure. Qilimanjaro, established in 2019, has developed analog chips utilizing “fluxoniums,” which are superconducting qubits, enabling the construction of integrated, error-resilient quantum computers. The center aims to cater to a wide range of users, offering access to both digital and analog quantum computers for tackling intricate problems like simulating molecules, materials, and physical systems, as well as exploring innovative approaches for training AI models and addressing large-scale optimization challenges.
