Vertiv, a global supplier of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has recently expanded its manufacturing presence in India with the opening of a new facility in Chakan, Pune. The new manufacturing facility in Pune, spanning 210,000 square feet, is equipped to produce a wide range of thermal management products and systems tailored for telecom, data centers, and commercial and industrial sectors. With a manufacturing capacity ranging from 200W to over 2MW, the facility manufactures products such as air handling units, adiabatic free cooling chillers, thermal wall units, and various innovative cooling systems.
In addition to its production capabilities, the facility boasts advanced psychometric laboratories for performance testing, a customer experience center, and design support capabilities. Situated in a park certified by the India Green Building Council, the facility underscores Vertiv’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi, the CEO of Vertiv, emphasized the strategic importance of the new manufacturing facility in light of the rapid adoption of AI-related technologies. He highlighted the increasing demand for thermal and electrical infrastructure to support the expansion of the data center sector, particularly in India, which is emerging as a key data center hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
A recent analysis by JLL projects significant growth in the Indian data center industry, with a forecasted increase in capacity to 1400 MW by 2025. This growth is driven by investments from both local and international businesses, underscoring the importance of Vertiv’s new manufacturing facility in Pune.
Subhasis Majumdar, the Managing Director of Vertiv India, emphasized the facility’s role in enhancing Vertiv’s capacity for thermal control, expediting delivery, and providing tailored solutions to meet the unique environmental and infrastructure requirements in India.
