President Donald Trump made an announcement on his social media platform Truth Social that he is re-nominating Shift4 founder Jared Isaacman to lead NASA. This decision comes after withdrawing the nomination months ago.
The shift in the nomination happened following weeks of online criticism from Elon Musk and others towards Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, who has been temporarily leading NASA.
Isaacman, a billionaire pilot and private astronaut, expressed gratitude for the support from the space-loving community and pledged to meet their expectations in a post on X. Before his re-nomination, he shared his vision for NASA on the platform, suspecting political interference between himself and Duffy.
