The Crucial Element for Data Center Resilience

A power outage lasting just a few seconds can be catastrophic for data centers, causing workloads to fail and requiring time for recovery, even if power is quickly restored. From a data center perspective, the impact of a brief outage is as severe as a prolonged one, emphasizing the critical need for voltage ride-through capabilities to enhance resilience and minimize outage risks.

Voltage ride-through (VRT) refers to power sources’ ability to remain connected to the grid during short power outages. This capability is crucial as the electrical grid, the primary energy source in many scenarios, is prone to disturbances such as brownouts and surges. Grid failures or fluctuations can lead to disruptive events, emphasizing the importance of VRT in maintaining continuous power supply to data center infrastructure.
