LFB Group’s Lennox Data Centre Solutions Division Expands Operations in Lyon, France

In a strategic move to solidify its position in the data centre market, LFB Group’s Lennox-branded Data Centre Solutions division has announced a significant expansion project in Lyon, France. With a multi-million euro investment, the division aims to enhance its operational capabilities to meet the increasing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data storage solutions.

The investment will focus on two key sites located in Genas and Mions, positioning the division to capture a substantial share of the burgeoning data centre market in Europe. With over 100 projected facilities in the UK and an anticipated continental investment of €94 billion by 2030, the expansion project comes at a crucial time to meet the growing needs of operators across the region.

The expanded facilities will enable the Lennox division to address the rising demand for innovative cooling solutions, essential for managing the higher rack densities prevalent in today’s data centres. This European expansion not only reinforces the company’s commitment to excellence but also strengthens its ability to support operators across the EMEA market.

The Genas facility, established in 1968, spans 18,000 sqm and serves as a manufacturing hub for evaporators, condensers, and the ApX Series products tailored to modern data centre requirements. The investment will introduce new automation and quality assurance tools, including helium leak testing and induction brazing, along with a state-of-the-art punching machine to enhance production efficiency.

As part of LFB Group’s sustainability initiatives, the Genas site will feature over 1,000 solar panels by 2026, aligning with the United Nations’ Global Compact goals. Additionally, the Mions laboratory, an esteemed Eurovent-accredited center, will lead research and development (R&D) activities focused on advancing data centre technologies.

Equipped with advanced climatic test chambers, the laboratory will play a crucial role in performance validation and real-world testing, further solidifying the LFB Group’s reputation as a premier European manufacturer with a comprehensive production network. The expansion project is expected to create new roles in Project Management, Operations, and Sales across France, Germany, and the Netherlands, with a projected team of 40 professionals by 2027.

In conclusion, the expansion of LFB Group’s Lennox-branded Data Centre Solutions division in Lyon marks a significant milestone in meeting market demands and supporting the evolving needs of data centre operators across Europe. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the division is poised to lead the way in providing cutting-edge solutions for the ever-expanding data centre market.
