Expanding APAC Presence
Vantage Data Centers has expanded its Asia-Pacific platform with a substantial $1.6 billion equity investment, led by GIC and ADIA. This investment will bolster Vantage’s regional footprint, with the acquisition of Yondr Group’s hyperscale data center campus in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor, Malaysia. This expansion adds to Vantage’s existing sites in Malaysia, providing enhanced service reach to key markets in the APAC region.
Strategic Growth
The addition of the Johor campus marks a significant milestone in Vantage Data Centers’ growth strategy in the region. With over 1GW of operational and planned IT capacity, Vantage is well-positioned to serve AI and cloud customers in strategic hubs such as Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Sustainable Infrastructure
The Johor campus, known as JHB1, covers nearly 73 acres and is set to offer more than 300MW of IT capacity across its three data centers. Situated in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, the campus features cutting-edge technologies like direct-to-chip liquid cooling and is on track for EDGE certification, emphasizing Vantage’s commitment to sustainability.
Operational Enhancements
With the acquisition of Yondr Group’s Johor campus, Vantage Data Centers welcomes over 30 team members from Yondr APAC, enhancing their operational capabilities. This move reinforces Vantage’s dedication to providing top-notch support to customers in key locations across the APAC region.
